Fall Cheerleading

Cheerleaders will have the option to choose between two tracks: Performance Sideline or Competitive Cheer. All athletes will be evaluated and placed on a team based on their age and skill level. Every cheerleader will be placed on a team - AGE Cheer has a place for everyone!

Ages

Tiny Exhibition Cheer: 4 - 6 year olds will be on our Tiny Exhibition team. These athletes must be potty trained and currently in daycare/school or organized activity.

Performance Sideline: 6 - 14 year olds will be placed on age-based teams. These athletes will participate in the league showcase or competition as an exhibition team.

Competitive Cheer: 6 - 15 year olds will be placed on competitive teams based on age & skill factors. These athletes will participate in the league showcase and 2 competitions. There is also an opportunity for athletes to continue the season through winter.

Performance Team Season: 7/28/26 through 11/30/26 (super bowl)

Competitive Season: 7/28/26 through 12/7/26 (tentative dates)

COMPETITIVE CHEERLEADERS WILL HAVE THE OPTION TO CONTINUE THEIR SEASON THROUGH WINTER (DEC-APRIL)

Practices

Summer Practices (Before Labor Day):

(2) 2 hour practices Monday - Thursday from 6:15 pm to 8:15 pm.


Fall Practices (After Labor Day):

(2-3) 2 hour practices Monday - Thursday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Tiny teams practice hours may vary.

Games

Arbutus is a part of CCYFCL (Carroll County Youth Football and Cheerleading League).

Cheerleaders are required to cheer for a certain number of football games in order to be eligible to compete.

UNIFORMS

Cheerleaders will be provided with the following uniform pieces depending on their team placement:

Tiny Exhibition: uniform & bows

Performance: uniform & bows

Competitive: game day top, competition uniform & bows

Extra Costs

Cheerleaders will be required to purchase specific additional uniform pieces, please check out the all about cheer parents tab for more information!

All cheerleaders regardless of performance or competitive will be required to have either a MD State ID or birth certificate to comply.

Each team will collect money towards game day snacks, team gifts and homecoming.

Amounts are TBD.

Fall 2026

        cheerleading details:

Registration fees:

Tiny exhibition cheer (4-6yr olds): $185

Sideline cheer (6-14yr olds): $200

Competitive cheer (6-15yr olds): $300

These prices reflect the cost for the full fall season (end of July-November/December). In addition all cheerleaders will have 2 league mandatory fundraisers to participate in.

TINY EXHIBITION: New 4-6 year old cheerleaders will automatically be placed on our tiny exhibition teams. Returning 5/6 year olds will have the opportunity to register for competitive cheer. These teams will carry 10 athletes per squad (2), anyone who registers after those teams are full will be placed on a waitlist. This team is the only team with a waitlist.

All futures athletes MUST BE potty trained and currently in daycare/school or organized group activity. 

Cheerleaders interested in attending evaluations for placement consideration on the Fall 2026 Competitive Cheer team should indicate so on the registration form. **WINTER CHEER will begin in December**

Clinics will be held in May and June.
